Full Moon, Women, Green Magic & the First Breath of Spring

March doesn’t tiptoe in.

She arrives under a full moon.

Before the green, before the flowers, before the patio chairs get dragged back outside — there is light. Big, round, unapologetic light in the sky reminding us that something is shifting.

And this year, March feels especially full.

We begin with a full moon.

We honor International Women’s Day.

We spring forward into longer light.

We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in every shade of green.

And we prepare for Easter with our Natural Egg Dyeing Class.

It’s a threshold month.

And I love a threshold.

The Full Moon: Illumination & Release

The full moon has always felt like a pause button to me. A moment to stand still long enough to ask:

What is ready to bloom?

What needs to be let go?

Tea pairs beautifully with reflection. A simple chamomile, a lavender tisane, even a quiet cup of green tea becomes something more intentional when you slow down enough to notice it.

March’s moon feels like a soft clearing. We’ve made it through winter. We’ve carried what we needed to carry. Now we get to lighten the load.

I always tell people — ritual doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as lighting a candle and drinking your tea without multitasking.

That counts.

International Women’s Day – March 8

As a woman-owned small business, this day matters to me.

Tea & Tisanes was built by hand. Slowly. Carefully. With courage I didn’t always feel but chose anyway.

International Women’s Day is not just about big headlines and global movements. It’s about the women who show up quietly and consistently. The mothers. The daughters. The teachers. The friends who help you carry tables, test recipes, and tell you to keep going.

It’s about women herbalists who preserved plant knowledge. Women who gathered, dried, blended, healed. Women who brewed comfort when comfort was needed most.

If you’re reading this, you are likely one of those women in someone’s story.

And that is worth honoring.

Spring Forward: More Light, Please

Daylight Saving Time arrives, and we lose an hour — but gain light.

There is something hopeful about longer evenings. The way sunlight lingers. The way your body begins to remember warmth.

This is when our teas begin to shift too. Lighter blends. Brighter greens. Fresh herbs. A hint of citrus. The beginning of patio conversations (Mississippi weather permitting).

Spring doesn’t explode. It unfolds.

And we get to unfold with it.

St. Patrick’s Day: A Celebration of Green

Green is more than a holiday color.

Green is renewal. Green is growth. Green is vitality.

Whether it’s a bold matcha latte, a fresh mint blend, or a traditional Irish breakfast tea, St. Patrick’s Day at Tea & Tisanes is less about gimmicks and more about honoring the symbolism of the season.

Herbal traditions in Ireland run deep. Nettles, mint, wild plants gathered with intention. Tea has always been part of gathering, storytelling, and resilience.

So yes — we’ll have green.

But it will be meaningful green.

Natural Egg Dyeing Class – March 28

One of my favorite old-world traditions is natural egg dyeing.

Before synthetic colors, families used what they had: Turmeric for gold.

Red cabbage for blue.

Onion skins for rust.

Hibiscus for soft pinks.

It feels almost magical to watch a white egg transform using nothing but plants.

On March 28 (9:00–10:30am), we’ll gather for our Natural Egg Dyeing Class and prepare for Easter in the most Tea & Tisanes way possible — botanical, traditional, hands-on, and beautiful.

It’s not just a craft.

It’s a reminder that nature has always provided what we need to create beauty.

March: A Month of Renewal

When I look at all of it together — the moon, the women, the light, the green, the eggs — I see one theme:

Renewal.

Not dramatic reinvention.

Not loud declarations.

Just steady, intentional blooming.

March invites us to reclaim our energy. To step into longer days. To honor where we’ve been and gently move toward what’s next.

If winter was rest, March is awakening.

And at Tea & Tisanes, we’ll be marking it one cup at a time.

With love,

Kelly
