The Tea Shop That Was
There are moments in life that feel both sudden and long in the making.
Closing the tea shop was one of them.
If you had asked me two years ago what this little space in Hernando would become, I might have told you about tea—about whimsical parties, finger sandwiches & mini desserts, medicinal blends, about the quiet ritual of pouring something warm into a waiting cup. But it became so much more than that.
It became a place where strangers lingered long enough to become familiar. Where birthdays were celebrated, stories were shared, and time—just for a moment—slowed down. There were laughter-filled afternoons with hats and gloves and teacups stacked high. There were quiet corners where someone sat alone, finding a bit of peace between the noise of life. There were hands wrapped around warm mugs, and conversations that felt like they mattered.
And for me, there was the daily act of creating—blending, baking, hosting, welcoming.
It was beautiful.
The Tea Shop That Was gave me exactly what I needed: connection, creativity, community, and proof that something small and heartfelt could become something meaningful.
And now, like all good things, it has transformed. Tea & Tisanes is not gone. It is simply changing shape. You will still find me bringing tea to you through traveling tea parties, gatherings, markets, and new experiences yet to be imagined. You’ll find me writing, teaching, and sharing what I’ve learned along the way.
Tea was never about the building. It was always about the ritual. The connection. The moment. And those things don’t close. They travel.
So this is not goodbye—
It’s simply a thank you. To everyone who walked through those doors, sat at those tables, and became part of the story.
The kettle is still on. And something new is already brewing.
